L-Tyrosine Alpha-Ketoglutarate (2:1)
Pharmaceutical grade ultra-pure for maximum bioavailability.
Pure AKG amino acid with no fillers or additives. HPLC verified.
L-Tyrosine is an essential amino acid which supports brain function. It can be converted by neurons in the brain into te neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinephrine (noradrenaline), hormones which are depleted by stress, excessive work and certain drugs. By replenishing norepinephrine in the brain, mental energy levels are enhanced and a feeling of contentment often occurs. L-tyrosine boosts certain neurotransmitters in the brain and has been used to support stress reduction and depression. L-Tyrosine is converted in the body into other key biologic compounds, including L-dopa, CoQ10, thyroid hormones and melanin.
The amino acid L-Tyrosine is a precursor for several substances made in the body including:
- Neurotransmitters such as dopamine and norepinephrine
- Melanins, the pigments largely responsible for skin and hair color
- Thyroid hormones, such as thyroxine

Tyrosine can also enhance athletic performance. L-Tyrosine is an important component of protein and helps form the bioactive factors vital to cellular growth and maintenance. Tyrosine supplementation has the potential to increase athletic performance in a few ways. One of the mechanisms possibly contributing to fatigue during exercise is an increase in central serotonin levels and an increase in the ratio of serotonin to dopamine. Tyrosine may help decrease this ratio and compete with tryptophan (the amino acid precursor to serotonin) at the blood-brain barrier. Increased dopaminergic activity may decrease the perception of fatigue. Also, during highly stressful conditions, catecholamine levels can become depleted, and tyrosine may be particularly useful under these conditions.
NutraBio.com L-Tyrosine is pure free form crystalline amino acid from microbiological fermentation. It is NOT derived from milk. The B vitamins pyridoxine (B-6) and folic acid can assist in the conversion process.
Benefits of Alpha-Ketoglutarate (AKG) Amino Acids:
Amino Acid Alpha-Ketoglutarates are amino acids with an alpha-ketoglutaric acid (AKG) molecule attached. This AKG transport molecule helps the amino acid bypass the gut and enter the muscle cell directly giving you superior absorption. Unlike L- form amino acids, AKGs are shuttled directly to the muscle cells rather than being absorbed and used by the small intestines for nucleotide synthesis. AKG drives the amino acid into cells creating a pro-anabolic environment.
Amino acid alpha-ketoglutarates are technically amino acids derivatives. Their ergogenic effects are similar to those of their base free form amino acids, but by molecularly bonding it to AKG, its ergogenic effects become more pronounced within the muscle cell itself. The presence of the AKG molecule not only enhances the function of amino acid and overcomes its inherent limitations, but also increases its absorption rate thereby reducing the need for large doses, which may put less stress on the body. An added benefit is that AKG is a precursor to glutamine, so when the AKG is finished doing its job as a shuttle molecule it gets converted into glutamine. No waste - all benefit.
We guarantee our
supplements to be the freshest and purest: Our powders and
capsules contain only pure active ingredient
with absolutely no additives. Other
manufacturers, in an effort to keep costs down,
dilute their products with cheap fillers and add chemical excipients
to their products to speed up their manufacturing output. These
practices cheat you out of the active ingredient. At NutraBio, we've
perfected our manufacturing technology so that excipients aren't
needed, that means no
microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, silica or other
fillers, just 100% pure active ingredient.
NutraBio supplements are
manufactured under the strictest standards producing the highest
quality and purest supplements available anywhere. Our raw
ingredients undergo state of the art HPLC analysis to insure zero

Truthful and Clear Supplement Facts Panels - No BS Proprietary Blends:
A proprietary blend is a cheap gimmick used by manufacturers to hide the real truth about what's in their product. By listing a bunch of ingredients under one blend on the label, the manufacturer only has to tell you how much of the blend is in a serving while hiding how much of each ingredient is in a serving. They do this to protect their secret formula, that’s bull, they do it so they can cheapen their product without their customers knowing. In the industry we call this “Window Dressing” the product the label looks good on the outside but there is nothing really happening on the inside. At NutraBio our Supplement Facts panels list the exact amount of each and every active ingredient in the supplement. No guessing, you know exactly what you are getting in every product we sell.
Purchase manufacturer direct at wholesale price:
Buy directly from the manufacturer and save. We cut out the middlemen and pass the savings on to you. With NutraBio, you pay the same low wholesale price that the chain stores pay. Did you know that most companies do not manufacture their products but use 3rd party manufacturers? Since we manufacture all of our own products we can control the quality and purity through the entire manufacturing process. We never sell old or near expired products.
