Amino Acids - Pharmaceutical Grade

AminoTherapy by NutraBio represents a breakthrough in amino acid supplementation:  AminoTherapy amino acids contain absolutely no fillers, excipients, flavors, sweeteners or additives of any kind, unless absolutely necessary. Just 100% pure active amino acids for maximum bio-availability and optimized results. Other manufacturers, in an effort to keep costs down, dilute their products with cheap fillers and add chemical excipients to increase their manufacturing output, we don't! NutraBio's AminoTherapy amino acids undergo state of the art analysis to insure zero tolerance for impurities and are manufactured under the strictest standards producing the highest quality and purest supplements available anywhere.

Isoleucine is an essential amino acid that along with leucine and valine makeup the 'branched chain amino acids' (BCAA). This amino acid cannot be manufactured in the body, and needs to be supplied in the diet.
Leucine
L-Leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis and may be the major fuel involved in anabolic (tissue building) reactions.
Lysine
Lysine is crucial for the formation of collagen, a major part of the body's connective tissues and appears to help the body absorb and conserve calcium and may reduce its excretion.
Lysine AKG
Lysine is an essential amino acid, which means your body cannot manufacture it so it must be obtained through the diet or by supplementation.
Lysine Ethyl Ester
Lysine is crucial for the formation of collagen, a major part of the body's connective tissues and appears to help the body absorb and conserve calcium and may reduce its excretion.
Methionine (free form)
L-Methionine (methionine) is a sulfur-bearing essential amino acid, which means that it cannot be manufactured by the body and must be obtained through diet or by supplementation.
N-Acety L-Cysteine (NAC)
N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine (NAC) is a more stable form of the amino acid L-Cysteine and is the most effective way to boost Glutathione levels in the body.
Ornithine Alpha-Ketoglutarate(OKG 2:1)
Ornithine alpha hetoglutarate (OKG) improves the performance of athletes by speeding muscle recovery time while boosting protein synthesis.
Ornithine(Free-form)
Ornithine helps build muscle and reduce body fat, especially when combined with the amino acids arginine and carnitine.
Phenylalanine (Free Form)
L-Phenylalanine is an essential nine-carbon amino acid that is one of the most commonly found aromatic amino acids that exhibit ultraviolet radiation absorption properties.

Amino acids are the building blocks of protein in the body and are essential for the synthesis of structural proteins, enzymes, some hormones and neurotransmitters. Amino acids are also involved in numerous metabolic pathways that affect exercise metabolism. Consequently, it has been suggested that athletes involved in intense training require additional protein in the diet or that they should supplement their diet with specific amino acids.

There are twenty amino acids which are coded for DNA and therefore are used for protein synthesis. Of these twenty, humans can only produce ten within their body. These ten are known as non-essential amino acids since it is not essential that we get them through food or supplementation because our bodies can produce them. The ten essential amino acids that we can produce are alanine, asparagine, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, proline, serine and tyrosine. Tyrosine is produced from phenylalanine, so if the diet is deficient in phenylalanine, tyrosine will be required as well.

The other ten must be supplied in the food we eat or through supplementation. Failure to obtain enough of even one of the ten essential amino acids can result in a degradation of the body's proteins, (your muscle) to obtain the one amino acid that is needed. Unlike fat and starch, the human body does not store excess amino acids for later use so the amino acids must be in the food we eat every day.

The essential amino acids are arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, and valine. These amino acids are required in the diet because the human body does not have all the the enzymes required for the biosynthesis of all of the amino acids.

Below is a list of the twenty amino acids that are coded by DNA for use in protein synthesis. There are many other amino acids such as ornithine and GABA for example, that have important uses in our body but are not used in protein synthesis.  Creatine is also considered an amino acid and is actually a combination of three amino acids - Arginine, Glycine and Methionine.
