Recommended Dosing Guidelines for Ribose

Ribose will temporarily depress blood sugar several points for an hour after ingestion. This is usually sub-clinical. However, it is recommended Ribose be taken with food, juice or around meal time to avoid potential symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Cardiac Health

  • Congestive Heart Failure/Ischemic Heart Disease : 5 grams twice daily, 3 times daily for advanced stages
  • Atrial Fibrillation :  5 grams, 2-3 times daily
  • General heart health :  3 to 5 grams once to twice daily

Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue:  5 grams, 3 times daily for the first 2-3 weeks. After that, the dose may be reduced to twice daily for maintenance.

Restless Leg Syndrome and other chronic muscle problems:  5 grams, 2 to 3 times daily as needed.


  • 5 grams, 2 times daily
  • Take 30-45 minutes before and after exercise/physical activity
  • Additional doses may be taken during the activity if the duration of exercise is prolonged (several hours).

Fatigue:  3 grams, twice daily
