L-Leucine is an essential amino
acid, meaning it can not be made by the body, and must be acquired through food
or dietary supplements. Leucine is classified as a "branched-chain amino acid"
(BCAA). It comprises about 8% of the total amino acid count in your body's
protein structures and is the fourth most concentrated amino acid in skeletal
muscle tissue.
L-Leucine stimulates muscle protein synthesis and may be the major fuel involved
in anabolic (tissue building) reactions. This makes them especially important
for body builders and other athletes in sports that demand explosive strength.
The branch chain amino acids valine, leucine, and isoleucine enhance protein
synthesis in liver cells and muscle cells and help promote muscle recovery after
exercise. They contribute to energy production in the body by being oxidized in
the cell’s mitochondria. Branch chain amino acids are used by body builders and
athletes to produce an anabolic effect and assist in the repair of micro tears
in muscle tissue that are a normal result of exercise. Leucine is thought to be

organic compounds that are formed by esterification, which is the reaction of
carboxylic acid and alcohols. Esters are organic compounds that help shuttle the

for direct transport to your cells. This prevents the amino acid from being
destroyed in the gut and drives more of the free form amino acid directly into

largely intact, regular free form aminos can be significantly degraded in the

can be limited. Ethyl ester amino acids are thought to have a much better
absorption rate and a longer half-life in the body than regular free from amino
acids because it is slightly more lipophilic.
Amino acid
ethyl esters are technically amino acids derivatives. Their ergogenic effects
are similar to those of their base free form amino acids, but the presence of an
ester will make the ergogenic effects of more pronounced. The presence of the
ester not only enhances the function of amino acid and overcomes its inherent
limitations, but the presence of an ester and increased absorption also reduce

Usage:
As a dietary supplement, take
2-3 grams up to twice daily or as directed by your
