Ginko Biloba
Main function: Improves alertness and circulation
Neurogen contains an extract from Ginkgo Biloba leaves, standardized to 24%
Ginkgo flavonglycosides and 6% sesquiterpine lactones. Ginkgo is safe and
effective with history of use dating back over 2800 years. The proven
applications of Ginkgo Biloba fall into two categories: neurological and
circulatory. Specifically Ginkgo Biloba can;
- Improve cognition,
increase memory and learning in Alzheimer’s patients, alleviate some forms
of tinnitus and vertigo, and protect neurons from oxidative damage.

Ameliorate circulation problems, cerebral edema, asthma and sexual
dysfunction due to use of antidepressants.
People also use Ginko Biloba to treat or prevent atherosclerosis, impotence,
depression diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and aging – although
there is disagreement about its efficacy for these conditions.
CAUTION:
Ginkgo Biloba is a blood thinner and should not be used along with other
blood thinners (i.e. Coumadin, Heparin) unless instructed by a physician.
People on MAO inhibitors (i.e. Nardil, Parnate), St. John’s wort, NSAID's
(non-steroidal anti inflammatory such as: Aspirin, Motrin) should be cautious when taking Ginkgo Biloba.
